Unloading and filling of bulk bags for a battery manufacturer
Unloading and filling operations of Lithium nickel potassium oxide (KDLNO) in big bags, as well as material conveying equipment to downstream production process. Our client, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of rechargeable battery technologies, approached Palamatic Process with the requirement of designing bulk bag handling equipment for lithium nickel potassium oxide (KDLNO). This material is known for its acute toxicity and can cause severe eye damage, skin irritation, respiratory irritation, suspected carcinogen, etc. Therefore, our client needed to make sure all components of the bulk bag unloading and filling stations were designed to fully contain and filter any dust, as well as keep the work area safe for their operators. Project scope of supply: # Bulk Bag Unloading Station # Material Flow Aids # Dust Filtration # Conveying Equipment # Bulk Bag Filling Station 1. BULK BAG UNLOADING STATION The central piece of equipment the project was built around is the Palamatic Process FIBC unloading unit - Low structure EasyFlow® 125. Designed with a telescoping connection head, the bulk bag discharge spout

Safe and clean bagging of ultra-light powders in FIBCs
The VeloVac-XL vacuum system from Greif-Velox offers virtually dust-free and compact bagging of ultra-light powders thanks to an innovative technology: a completely closed vacuum chamber. Until now, ultra-light powders such as carbon black or pyrogenic silica were particularly difficult to bag safely and compactly in FIBCs (”BigBags”) due to their nature. Maschinenfabrik Greif-Velox now offers a unique solution with the vacuum technology of the VeloVac XL: It ensures clean, fast and compact bagging, which minimises logistics and transport costs as well as product loss and increases work safety. At the same time, the use of the larger containers ensures economic and ecological advantages. Innovative vacuum technology The VeloVac-XL vacuum system from Greif-Velox offers virtually dust-free and compact bagging of ultra-light powders thanks to an innovative technology: The powders with particle sizes of less than 200 micrometres and a bulk density of 10 to 450 grams per litre are filled in a completely closed vacuum chamber. In contrast to pump packer systems, an atmospheric vacuum is generated in this chamber, which sucks the product directly into

Stable two meter high big bags with a filler and shaker station in one
Jansen&Heuning made a smart modification to an existing big bag filling station, thus creating fully filled, stable big bags of 2 meters high. Most big bags are slightly over meters high. But how do you ensure a good big bag filling process and stable big bags when they are almost 2 metres high? With this question, HSR Packaging from Ede (NL) came to Jansen&Heuning. We started working on a smart modification of the existing big bag filling station: a big bag fill- and shake station in one. The problem: unstable, poorly filled big bags The big bags at HSR Verpakkingen are almost 2 meters high and are filled with various recycling products. The client noticed that big bags could not be filled fully with the old big bag filling station, because the contents were loosely added to the big bags. In addition, they noticed that the filled big bags did not stand very stable on the pallets, which is necessary with big bags of almost 2 meters high. The solution: bigbag shaking and filling station in one Jansen&Heuning designed a modification of the existing big bag filling stations by adding a big bag shaking

New MA Valve 125 fill FIBCs faster and safer
Masterpack, in close cooperation with Somsix, developed a new valve for FIBC’s with numerous advantages: easy to use, soft TPE membrane, hermetic seal, minimum contamination, and more. We’re continuously improving our existing products, and are also developing new ones to better fit your needs. And after years of hard work in close cooperation with Somsix, it’s time to present the latest addition to our product line: the new MA Valve 125. Advantages What does the MA valve 125 do for your production process? Before we dive into some of the features and design of the MA Valve 125, let’s look at some of the practical benefits our new valve will give you. * Shorter process times: Thanks to the large surface and construction design, we’ve established forty percent shorter process times. For example, bags with corn can now be filled in three minutes instead of five. * More empty bags per pallet: Due to its super flat design, the valve can be easily integrated into the production of the FIBC and up to 25% more empty bags can be stacked on a pallet in comparison to bags with filter tubes. * Safer than traditional valves: This also minimizes

Clever design of Big-Bag filling units for Van Delft Biscuits
The TBMA Big-Bag filling units play a key role in the internal handling during the spice nut production, and in coating these traditional delicacies with chocolate. Billions of ‘pepernoten’ (spice nuts) roll out of the ovens of Van Delft Biscuits every year. New is the in-house process line for coating traditional delicacies with chocolate. The TBMA Big-Bag filling units play a key role in the internal handling during the spice nut production. Engineering to the millimeter For Van Delft Biscuits, TBMA has supplied two Big-Bag filling units for handling spice nuts. The challenge was to fit the Big-Bag filling installation into the reasonably compact factory hall where a new coating machine is located. The available height was 4400 mm. Ultimately, TBMA managed to engineer a filling machine in which the two-meter-high big bag can be filled and weighed suspended, while there is also room for the more than one-meter high metal detector and an elevator belt. Above it is even a 30 cm space left for the operator to clean the installation. Filling the Big-Bag suspended has the advantage that the bag can be stretched and is filled

Screening, Dosing, Filling Precisely Fitting System for Production in Cramped Conditions
Screening, Dosing, Filling
Precisely Fitting System for Production in Cramped Conditions When it comes to procuring new machines and plant, cramped space conditions at the installation location can quickly become a problem. And this is by no means just the case when an additional component is to be incorporated into an existing process. Space is also often scarce in new production halls planned from scratch. If, on top of this, many different production and process steps have to be represented and seamlessly linked to each other, plant planners quickly come up against their limits with standardized components. This challenge was also faced by a producer from the chemical industry, who was looking for a suitable system unit for the production hall they were planning. The task: Different chemical products were to be freed from coarse particles at the end of the manufacturing process and then placed in dosed amounts in big bags. Process Section no. 1: The Removal of Coarse Particles In this special use case the vibration screening machine is to be installed,
