LUM GmbH was founded in 1994 by the Managing Director Prof. Dr. Dietmar Lerche as innovative development, production and service corporation. The headquarters are located in Berlin, Germany. The company has an office and application laboratory in France and three subsidiaries: LUM Corporation, USA, LUM (Changzhou) Instruments Co. Ltd, China, and LUM Japan Co., Ltd.
LUM GmbH consists of a highly qualified, multidisciplinary team of scientists, technicians and engineers.
Scientific and measurement-technology expertise has been obtained for decades in:

•Particle characterization
•Analysis of suspensions and emulsions, including stability evaluation
•Determination of adhesive and bonding and strengths
•Quality assurance and process optimization.

This knowledge and its continuous extension form the basis for customer-oriented problem solving, product developments and services for our national and international customers, working in larger industrial, food, cosmetics, pharmaceutical enterprises and increasingly in the academic sector.
The innovative analytical instruments “made by LUM“ are part of standard laboratory equipment in many R&D and QA/QC departments. German Federal Office for Radiation Protection granted type approval for separation analyser The German Federal Office for Radiation Protection granted the type approval pursuant to the German X-ray ordinance (RöV) for the new Separation Analyser LUMiReader X-Ray. The type approval of 2 August 2013, published in German Federal Gazette Bundesanzeiger on 18.9.2013, BAnz AT 18.09.2013 B4, certifies the Analyser a fully radiation protected system. LUMiReader X-Ray has been developed and is manufactured and sold by LUM GmbH, Berlin, Germany. ACHEMA Hall 6.3 P23-Q23 The Dispersion Analyzer LUMiSizer® made by L.U.M. GmbH is the complete dispersion lab in just one instrument. The LUMiSizer® simultaneously determines the demixing of 12 different dilute or concentrated dispersions. Based on the patented STEP®-Technology, the demixing phenomena are quantified regarding clarification, sedimentation and flotation velocities of the particles, residual turbidity, separated phase volume and sediment consolidation or dewaterability.
