US producer of plastic granules relies on RHEWUM wet screening machine
In his production chain an American manufacturer will no longer use two machines for screening his plastic granulate, but only one: the Rhewum wafl with two screen decks. Pavement markings have been used since the beginning of the 20th century. Today they are part of the modern street scene and without them we would sometimes lose orientation. The line markings create a clear and safe traffic guidance. The products of the world’s leading North Carolina-based manufacturer are not only used on roads and highways, but also on taxiways, take-off and landing runways, parking lots, intersections and in all types of commercial, construction, government, industrial and architectural environments. So these markings help drivers, pilots and pedestrians to move safely in the right direction. The exact process of producing road markings will not be discussed in detail at this point, as it is quite complex. However, plastic granulate is processed in the production of road markings, that must be dewatered. With the help of the Rhewum wafl the water can be perfectly separated from the product and a low residual moisture of approx. 8 percent can

Monitoring for drag chain conveyors 4B WDA sensor used as solution to monitor chain slack or breakage
Monitoring for drag chain conveyors
4B WDA sensor used as solution to monitor chain slack or breakage By using a WDA sensor in combination with a speed relay, ferrous steel flights or bolts on plastic paddles are used to monitor for broken or slack chain issues on drag conveyors. The WDA is a non-contacting extended range magnetic proximity sensor, not affected by dust or material build up, used to detect moving ferrous material up to 75mm away from the sensor. The speed relay is used to monitor the speed of a rotating shaft and detect if it rises or falls below a preset safety level.

Rotary paddle Rotonivo® the reliable solution for level control Simple and reliable measurement technology by UWT
Rotary paddle Rotonivo® the reliable solution for level control
Simple and reliable measurement technology by UWT A level limit sensor has to cope with low bulk density, bridging, caking, abrasiveness, corrosion, leverage forces, high and low process temperatures, electrostatic charging and so on. Rotating level limit switches of UWT have been designed to meet these challenges of different industry sectors and cover various changing approaches, also within extraordinary applications. The rotating paddle switch can be used as full, demand or empty detectors in silos or containers. The trusted, multifunctional and maintenance free unit for level monitoring of bulk goods is versatile and has a modular design. With its simple electromechanical measuring principle it can also be adapted for extreme process conditions. A motor driven shaft causes the vane to rotate. Once the material level reaches the vane, thereby preventing further rotation, this creates a torque, which is converted via a switch to an electric signal. When the vane is free again of the material, the output signal

Explosion safety systems win the Red Dot Design Award for the first time
The design of the Q-Bic isolation system for explosion safety is not only functional and hygienic, but also award winning visual. When it comes to the winners of design awards, most people think of futuristic automobiles, furnishings or everyday objects. However, for the first time, protection systems have now also received an award. Two in-house developments from the German safety manufacturer REMBE, known as the world market leader on the explosion safety scene, have received the Red Dot Design Award: the Q-Bic extinguishing barrier and the design study for a new generation of the EXKOP quench valve, both products for explosion isolation. The REMBE engineers have thus demonstrated that, besides the highest standards of safety and reliability, they also have an eye for the visual. However, not only does the new Q-Bic isolation system look good but the design has been developed with functional and hygienic aspects in mind. The Q-Bic extinguishing barrier offers a variety of visible and invisible highlights: the firmly attached transport handles, which allow safe installation and transport of

Wye Line Diverters Handling Plastic Pellets for Automotive
Wye Line Diverters Handling Plastic Pellets for Automotive
An automotive industry plastics manufacturer contacted Vortex Global because they needed to replace a cumbersome hose manifold system with an automated process. The system was used to convey different grades and colors of plastic pellets from individual storage bins into an extruder, where the pellets were heated and molded into automotive parts. For this plastics manufacturer, the process of conveying plastic pellets was a production and safety ordeal. The hoses took space on the production floor, employees had to be aware of the constant relocation of the hoses, and production slowed as hoses were relocated to different source bins. On occasion, hoses were connected to the wrong source bin, causing the extruded parts to be made with the improper materials – therefore creating waste. The company had installed Vortex Wye Line Diverters in other parts of their facility earlier with great success. They were pleased with the valves’ performance and the lifecycle
