`Hygienic Design` metal separators - fully compliant with IFS

S+S Separation and Sorting Technology is inviting visitors to POWTECH 2007 (Hall 7, Stand 7-420) to take a closer look at its range of IFS compliant, "Hygienic Design” metal separators which specifically designed for handling bulk materials in the food industry. Metal separators from the same RAPID 5000 range have recently been installed throughout the new production facility of Austrian flavourings and additives manufacturer Almi by the engineering company Johann Daxner GmbH.
S+S` RAPID 5000 metal separators detect and remove magnetic and non-magnetic metal contaminants from free-falling bulk materials. Contaminants are removed by means of a fast-reacting reject flap (“Quick Flap System”) with minimal loss of good material. The circular design of the reject mechanism manufactured from stainless steel eliminates sharp edges and crevices, preventing product build-up and blockages in the pipeline, even with non free-flowing bulk materials, thereby avoiding longer term product deposits and the resulting mould formation. The "Easy Clean" construction of the reject device means it is straightforward to access for cleaning and maintenance purposes. Rapid 5000 systems are built to a well-proven modular design concept and are also available for use in ATEX Zones 20, 21 and 22.
