TBMA Big bag filling line: safe, ergonomic, optimal filling

TBMA recently delivered a big bag filling line including pallet dispenser and conical vibrating table to a large chemical producer in the southern part of the Netherlands.
The installation will be used for the packaging of raw materials for cleaning products and is part of an extensive TBMA system.

Safe and ergonomic

The filling line is supplied with, among other things, an operator platform incorporating a gate that can tilt forwards up to 15°. The trombone hooks come forward automatically so that the operator can easily suspend the big-bag in the machine. The hooks are self-releasing: the filled big-bag is raised slightly so that the loops are tension-free, allowing the hooks to be rotated, after which the bag is removed. This construction provides a safe, ergonomic and operator-adjustable workplace. The inflatable seal on the filling head also ensures a dust-free connection during filling.

Optimal filling

Each suspended big-bag is inflated for optimal filling. The conical vibrating table then ensures that the corners of the bag are filled first, creating a balanced loading of the big bag. The vibration cycles vent and compact the product for maximum filling.
During filling, the big-bag is vibrated several times. The vibration duration and interval time can be fully adjusted to suit the product to be processed and the bag type. During the final 10% of the filling cycle, the lift table automatically lowers for an exact weighing. The product is topped flat, after which a straight, compact and stable big-bag remains, suitable for stacking up to 2 high.

Safe rotary valve for toxic process gases TBMA has developed a smart and safe rotary valve for production using chlorine gas: highly aggressive and dangerous to life.
Safe rotary valve for toxic process gases
TBMA has developed a smart and safe rotary valve for production using chlorine gas: highly aggressive and dangerous to life. Titanium dioxide can be produced in several ways. One of the methods uses chlorine gas. This gas is highly aggressive and dangerous to life. A rotary valve for this process must therefore meet extremely high requirements. A challenge for which TBMA has developed a smart and safe solution. Even stainless steel AISI 316 is not resistant to the yellow-green, very aggressive chlorine gas (Cl2) that is used for the production of titanium dioxide (TiO2). The installation components must therefore be manufactured from an even higher quality material. This also applies to the high-end, flameproof H-AR350 drop-through rotary valve from TBMA in the process. It is made from a very special alloy of (among others) nickel, chrome, molybdenum and niobium. This material has excellent resistance to various corrosive media - including chlorine gas - and is resistant to high pressure. Pressure chamber The chlorine gas is not only aggressive but also extremely poisonous. A leak

Robot for Galahad bag emptying machine
Automatic bag supply up to 1.000 bags per hour Bulk goods such as powders and granulates are still being packaged in 25 kg bags on a large scale, even when the market often demands otherwise. With the Galahad bag slitting and emptying machine one can easily repackage from bags to Big-Bags, octabins, bulk trucks or bulk storage. TBMA now also offers the Galahad extended with a robot for fully automatic feeding. Value Added Logistics Value Added Logistics (VAL) is the creation of higher added value in the logistics chain. In addition to transport, many transport companies also offer for example, the packaging, weighing and labelling of products. This is also the case in the bulk industry: dry bulk goods are often transported in bulk quantities. From plastic to titanium dioxide, from starch to sugar and from cement to carbon black. For a well-known logistics service provider in Marseille, mainly active in the (petro)chemical industry, TBMA has supplied an installation for fully automatic quick and direct loading of
